Google Introduces New Smartphones – Pixel 9 Series with AI Technology

MOUNTAIN VIEW (Reuters) – Google is picking up the pace when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI), launching the new Pixel smartphones earlier than usual.

The new Pixel 9 is equipped with Gemini AI, the company’s chatbot and a competitor to ChatGPT, the company announced Tuesday. With the August presentation, Google is breaking with tradition: Since introducing the first Pixel phone in October 2016, the company has always introduced newer versions in the fall.

With the early announcement, Google is trying to keep up with competitors. The start of sales of the new iPhone from Apple, scheduled for September, has already begun, as the new series will be equipped, among other things, with new artificial intelligence functions, such as the so-called “Apple Intelligence”.

Google’s new phones are available for pre-order starting Tuesday. The base model, the Pixel 9 with a 6.3-inch display, starts at $799 before taxes — about $100 more than the previous model. The company also announced new versions of its Pixel Watch 3 smartwatch and the Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds.
