Google wants to offer AI-powered search results in the US
American company Google now wants to provide results on its internet search engine developed using artificial intelligence (AI), at least in the US. Company Chairman Sundar Pichai made the announcement on Tuesday in Mountain View, California. In addition to links to websites previously provided in search queries, Google also wants to provide results in the form of answers written by its artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
“I'm excited to announce that this week we will begin rolling out this completely redesigned experience to everyone in the United States,” Pichai said. Other countries should gradually follow suit. By the end of this year, more than a billion people will be able to use the AI offering.
The new offer was tested for a year, the Google boss said. It should provide users with “more research and more satisfaction.” The above responses to traditional website links are generated using Google's AI model Gemini.
Google dominates global internet searches. According to observers, the current innovation is the most significant change since the establishment of the company.
Google, along with AI pioneer OpenAI and its collaboration partner Microsoft, are vying for a leadership role in so-called generative AI, the use of artificial intelligence to create new content. On Monday, OpenAI released a new version of its ChatGPT project, in which the voice assistant is more closely adapted to human behavior than ever before.
