Graz 99ers beat RB Salzburg

The surprise of the Graz 99ers in the 29th round of the ICE Hockey Championship that ended with a 2-day victory against Red Bull Salzburg and a victory of 3: 1.

In doing so, the Grazers get important points to join the top six. With 33 points, they remain in ninth place, while Salzburg (48 points) ranks fourth, eight points behind leaders Innsbruck.

The game starts slowly, and neither team can create really good chances. Finally, the 99ers use the game’s first power play to take the lead—Bauerman (16./PP) hits a one-timer from the blue line at the net.

Bad luck in Salzburg – effective in Graz

In the second third, minor changes in the gameplay. Salzburg won the match and hit the post only twice, but Graz scored the goal: seven seconds before the end of the first half the whistle, Eugan (40) hits the goal in front of the goal and runs out with icy coldness.

Granholm makes the initial decision in the 50th minute: the Norwegian has to pick up the racket only after Jugan’s pass.

In the last minutes, Salzburg fired from all positions, but Graz goalkeeper Engstrand still could not be beaten. Only 19 seconds before the end, Heinrich (60. / bb) scored a consolation goal, but the “bulls” came off the ice with their heads hanging down.
