Neighbours in Graz are concerned about the new articulated bus route 34E, which was introduced without warning in Am Eschbach, and are demanding that the bus route be changed.

On Monday, August 5, the 34E bus made its unannounced debut in the Am Eichbach area and since then the new line has been a nuisance for residents. The new stopping and parking ban, which now applies to the entire alley, was not announced to anyone in advance. This is a big problem for the residents of Am Eichbach, because nursing and cleaning services, doctors, emergency services, parcel deliveries and oil suppliers are no longer allowed to stop there.

Turns instead of circumstances

When families walk through the alley with their children and strollers to get to the supermarket, they have to hug the fence when the large bus comes in to avoid danger. If a car comes towards the bus, it has to turn back onto the busy Ziehrerstrasse, a resident told Der Grazer. The residents expressed their dissatisfaction in several emails to the city of Graz and the holding company, demanding that the bus take a 100-meter detour via Ziehrerstrasse so that pedestrians are not endangered. The use of the 34E bus in the summer comes as a surprise to the residents because it was intended for use during rush hour, but is currently running empty.
