On September 8, 2023, the time has come: HDI employees, along with the new HDI management team, celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary.
“We are very proud of the success of HDI, which would not have been possible without our employees. We are honored to have many long-time employees in our ranks who have already shared a long road to success with us. This is not a given,” says Thomas Lackner, CEO of HDI, happily. And, above all, it speaks about our positive company culture.” Together with Dipl.-Ing. Maria Kadan and Maj. Dieter Pankosiger have been managing the company since May 2023.
In celebrations, employees looked back over the past four decades during a speech by the management team: The company first established itself as a performance and quality-oriented property insurance company for industrial clients in 1983. In the 1990s, the Private Auto, Legal Protection, Family and Homeownership divisions were finally merged.
Government offices have been opened throughout Austria in order to provide policyholders with the best possible service locally and to strengthen cooperation with regional sales partners. Other services have been launched such as the HDI Workshop Network of over 200 partner workshops or the HDI Lawyers Hotline for those who have legal protection insurance over the decades. In addition to the Austrian sites, former Gerling branches in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary also became the responsibility of Austria’s HDI Versicherung AG as a result of the acquisition of Gerling by the Talanx Group.
The anniversary celebration was all about the 80s and was a complete success. Many highlights were presented and the atmosphere of the company’s founding decade was once again brought to life: this was ensured by atmospheric music and original 80s costumes for the staff. A special highlight was the premiere of HDI’s new photo film, which was filmed with a professional camera team and depicts the company, its values and its employees.
“The film shows once again what we can achieve ‘together’ – our goal -. The participation of many employees has breathed additional life into the film. This has enabled us to show our company authentically, individually and with great personality. We look forward to the next few years with full confidence, because decades The past has taught us that we are capable of withstanding major challenges such as epidemics and economic crises and emerging from them stronger. Our commitment to digitalization and sustainability remains an important pillar of our success, and we are accompanied on the path that we will continue together with the expertise of our employees and our many years of experience,” says engineer Thomas Lackner.
