According to Ukrainian sources, the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, was subjected to a fierce Russian air attack this morning.
“The enemy launched a complex attack from several directions at the same time, using drones, cruise missiles and possibly ballistic missiles,” the Kiev military department said via Telegram.
It was an extraordinary intensity, the peak number of missiles in a very short period of time. According to preliminary information, the vast majority of enemy targets in the skies over Kiev were detected and destroyed.
He was hit by debris
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, announced shortly before on his Telegram account that the city’s air defenses had been deployed. The wreckage of a drone and a missile fell in the Darnitsky district, south of the capital. Klitschko added that “three people were wounded in the Solomjansky district.”
The severe Russian attacks came a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky returned from a tour that included Italy, Germany, France and Britain.
London offers more anti-aircraft missiles
The British government promised Ukraine to deliver hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles and drones in a timely manner. Britain announced last week that it would supply Ukraine with Storm Shadow cruise missiles. In response to London’s new pledge to arm Ukraine, Moscow warned of “further devastation”.
