According to the government in Kyiv, all thermal and hydroelectric power plants in the country have been damaged by Russian airstrikes on Ukraine’s power grid. Therefore, power outages are expected throughout the winter.
Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region remains the most heavily fought. In his daily video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that “the situation on the front lines in the main regions of Donbass – Bakhmut, Solidar, Marinka and Krymina – remains very difficult. There has been no place in these regions for a long time. It has not been done through shells.” And it was destroyed by fire. Rather, the occupiers destroyed the city of Bakhmut, which is another town in the Donbass that the Russian army burned and destroyed.”
The Pentagon is developing a new aid package
The US government warned of increased Iranian support for the Russian military and therefore announced new sanctions.
Moscow again ordered hundreds of “kamikaze drones” and ballistic missiles from Tehran to secure its military supplies. According to British intelligence, arms aid to Russia will continue to increase in the coming months.
Washington approved an additional $275 million in military aid for Ukraine. The package includes US Himars multiple missile launchers, anti-drone equipment, medical equipment and generators.
US Republicans, who will control the House of Representatives in Washington by a slim majority from January, have signaled they want to hit the brakes on aid funding for Ukraine.
