The fact that Xabi Alonso will be on the sidelines of Bayern Munich next season is just the wishful thinking of honorary president Uli Hoeneß.
In an interview with BR24Sport, the 72-year-old commented on Bayern's search for a coach. The favorite remains Leverkusen's successful coach Xabi Alonso, but Hoeneß doubts his commitment will actually materialise.
He explained: “We will see if we can do it this year. It will be very difficult, if not impossible. Personally, we all think highly of Xabi Alonso.”

Perhaps the timing is too early – a criticism of Nagelsmann's early outing
With Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso is on the verge of becoming German champion. With eight days to go, Werkself has a ten-point lead over Munich.
Hoeness believes that the time for a possible departure from Leverkusen is still too early. Given his current string of success, Alonso “is more inclined to continue because he doesn't want to, like, leave that behind him now. If he had two or three more years of success, maybe it would have been easier to get it.” From there.”
The Premier League coach must also be very popular as a potential replacement >>>
The honorary president criticizes the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann a year ago. The German said, if we look at the cooperation with the German national team coach, “who was dismissed or given leave at a time when the three titles were still possible, then this is actually not something that suits Bayern Munich.”
Bayern have shown little patience recently.
