President Mark Zuckerberg declared the “Year of Efficiency”: streamlining structures, stopping low-priority projects and eliminating middle levels of management.
Zuckerberg recently sent a letter to employees. This indicates that 10,000 employees were fired and 5,000 vacancies were not filled. Meta employs approximately 87,000 people worldwide as of November 2022.
In the letter, the CEO also reported that evaluating performance data showed that in certain situations, face-to-face work is more efficient than a home office — especially with younger employees, according to Zuckerberg. Attendance work at first helps build trust with colleagues and superiors.
