The Humane AI Pin, a screenless AI phone, will launch in the US in March 2024. Pre-orders have been possible since November.
The device was developed by former Apple designers Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri and supported by Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI. It uses OpenAI's ChatGPT to answer questions and leverage a new operating system called Cosmos.
The AI Pin costs $699, but users must also purchase a $24 monthly subscription to access the Pin's cellular data, which relies on T-Mobile's network.
Delivery in the EU may be delayed due to regulation
While customers in the European Union are also waiting to receive the AI Pin, the product launch may be delayed due to government regulations. If Humane plans to launch AI Pin in the EU, it must ensure that the product complies with GDPR rules. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most stringent data protection and security law in the world.
