Book of Churches/Amsterdam. Schiphol Airport is a very important and highly trafficked air hub. It is there that Dynell has carried out an important test of its hydrogen-powered ground-based energy device.
Dynell’s hydrogen-powered ground power unit (GPU) DHM 090 was tested live for the first time at Schiphol Airport in July. The innovative technology offers a promising alternative to conventional diesel and battery-powered ground power supplies and represents an important advance in climate protection in aviation, according to the Buchkirchen-based company. The DHM 090 delivers 350 kWh of energy and is designed to power aircraft. The biggest advantage of this GPU is its environmental friendliness: it produces no emissions and can be quickly refueled on site. This not only reduces CO22Emissions, but also energy consumption and operating costs. This is because the aircraft does not need to run its engines during idle periods to operate systems such as lighting and cockpit instruments. This saves fuel and does not cause any noise.
