Boris Becker, former world number one and former coach of Novak Djokovic, plans to work as a coach in the future. The 49-time ATP Tour winner and six-time Grand Slam champion is linked to German Alexander Zverev.
“I know him well and I love him,” the 56-year-old explained during the Laureus Awards ceremony in Madrid. “His family is also very familiar to me and we are close friends.”
“Not this year, maybe 2025 or 2026.”
Boris Becker has taken care of tennis players Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Holger Röhn (Denmark) in recent years. However, Becker ended his collaboration with Rune after only four months in February 2024.
However, due to his work as a television expert, the German rules out any collaboration this calendar year. “This year is not possible due to my many other commitments,” Baker said. “However, I do not rule out future cooperation, perhaps in 2025 or 2026.”
Alexander Zverev is currently being taken care of by his father. In addition, due to his previous prison sentence (insolvency offences), Boris Becker will only be able to travel freely from November 2024.
