Defending champion Red Bull Salzburg suffered their first defeat of the season in the ICE Hockey League. The Bulls had to concede defeat to record champion KAC 4:6 in an impactful match on Sunday, thus leaving Ice a loser for the first time after five straight wins.
The national player Lukas Haudum became the winner of the Klagenfurt match by three goals (2/3/45). However, Salzburg remained at the top of the table because HCB Südtirol also lost for the first time.
Lucas Lisieux (26 minutes), Jesper Jensen Abo (47 minutes) and Johannes Bischoffberger (59) scored for KAC. Goals by Dennis Robertson (13 minutes), Ali Wukowitz (28 minutes) and Lukas Thaler (37 minutes) brought Salzburg back to the match with a score of 3-3 after two periods. But in the final third, the guests from Carinthia were more efficient in front of goal, with Salzburg’s Tim Harnisch (55./PP) entering the scorers’ list.
Bolzano conceded his first defeat
South Tyrol surprisingly lost 3:4 at Pioneers Vorarlberg, who celebrated their second win of the season after four consecutive defeats. Marcel Seitz made the decision in favor of the pioneers in the 58th minute. Posen, who had played one game less than Mozarstadt, was still the first to chase Salzburg.
With a 2-1 win over VSV after three defeats, the Graz 99ers were once again able to celebrate with a sense of accomplishment. Just like the Vienna Capitals, who showed no weaknesses with their 5:2 win over HC Pustertal.
