The company was started in 1970 by Tech giant Siemens was established Diode production facility in Villach. Since then, the Carinthian production site has become an essential part of today’s Infineon Technologies. Already in the seventies to the eighties, the site was repeatedly expanded and in 1997 to Global Efficiency Center for Power Electronics Absolutely.
After expanding the Austrian presence by Development centers in Graz (1998) and Linz (1999) Siemens’ semiconductor division has become 1999 sprang up and became Infineon Technologies.
