Apple has security concerns with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 and offers two security updates. iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 should be released immediately by anyone sticking to version 15 of the operating system at the moment.
Apple recently released iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1, but not all users are ready for the update. Under certain circumstances, the company’s users cannot update simply because internal security guidelines prevent it. Other users may be concerned that the 16 versions are not yet mature enough and will therefore stick to iOS 15. There are also devices that should not update to iOS 16 at all, for example because they serve as test devices. For example, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 still run iOS 15 because there is no iOS 16 for them.
So Apple released iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 to the public due to security issues.
The software update menu can be selected in the Settings app under General. There you will find the option to update for devices that are still in the 15th world. Of course, if available, there is also the option to upgrade to iOS 16.
Apple is currently working on iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, which will bring new functionality and the new Freeform app. There is currently one beta for developers and one public beta. If you wish, you can install it on compatible devices.
What do you think of security on iOS and iPadOS? Is Apple doing enough here? Feel free to write your opinion in the comment fields below this news, we are very excited.
