This was announced yesterday by the Grimme Institute in Cologne. The Grimme Prize is Germany’s most prestigious television award. Boehmermann took home the honor with his team for “ZDF Magazin Royale,” which combines satire/comedy with investigative research. It is already Bommerman’s sixth Grimme Award. The award-winning sandman movie deals with a recycling vehicle made from used and broken things, and something new is created with the push of a button.
The special honor as part of the Grimm Prize goes to cabaret artist/actress Maren Kroemann, who, according to the jury, represents “the strong diversity of female identities on German television”. ZDF works fine. In addition to Boehmermann, among the awards are the series “Newland”, the film “Die Wannseekonferenz” and the drama “Im Feuer”. Prizes will be presented on April 21st.
