The tourism and beauty association Eichgraben has called for “jazz meets wine” at the Fuhrwerkerhaus on Saturday. Jazz formation “Home Cookin'” pleased many visitors with the best jazz music. Klaus Wigenketl (sax), Kurt Romer (guitar), Thomas Reinthaler (piano), Michael Schägerl (bass) and Christian Nistelberger (drums) have provided pieces for Joe Zawinowdel, Eddie Harris, Miles Davis, Sam Rivers and many more.
“In jazz, ‘cooking’ has always been a popular metaphor, when everything runs like clockwork in the band, when the musicians mix their ingredients without having to think too much and deliver a delicious, soulful listening experience,” explains Michael Schägerl of Eichgraben of the band’s name. Because music is music. And the kitchen are always so closely linked, there were sustainable wines from the Pferschy-Seper winery in Mödling to accompany the enjoyment of the music.
Young winemaker Anna Siber, who was voted Best Young Winemaker in Lower Austria by Falstaff last year, and her father Hans invite her for wine tastings between music sets. There was also bread and cheese.
