Jollydays bankruptcy also concerns WKStA – ooe.ORF.at

WKStA received the statement of facts and forwarded it to the responsible public prosecutor's office in Vienna, the agency told APA on Thursday. No further details were disclosed.

Libero: “Bankruptcy was not expected”

More than 100 affected people have already reported to AK OÖ. Jollydays vouchers were sold at Billa Plus, Bipa, Pagro, Libro and others. “It was not expected that Jollydays GmbH would go bankrupt,” Libro told APA. The insolvency experience voucher platform will now be closed. This is evident from the recently published notice in the public bankruptcy filing.

Jollydays also sold skydiving vouchers, among other things.

Jollydays sold vouchers for thousands of different activities on its website, from skydiving to thermal baths or short breaks. These were then redeemed by the relevant experience provider.

Vouchers are no longer redeemable.

As early as July, early adopters complained that vouchers were not redeemed because service providers had not received any money from Jollydays, the AKP reported in a recent broadcast. Letters from consumer advocates to Jollydays have gone unanswered. Apart from individual cases and goodwill cases, it is unlikely that vouchers will remain redeemable.

According to the liquidator, the relevant experience provider is not obligated to redeem the voucher, Jollydays wrote on its website.

Those affected can contact insolvency officials.

According to the information, the seller of the experience voucher has liabilities of 8.6 million euros, offset by assets worth around 100 thousand euros. Viennese lawyer Michael Ludwig Lange is acting as liquidator. Voucher holders can register claims until October 10, 2024, for which a fee of 25 euros must be paid.

Ten employees and around 430 creditors, such as hotels, spas and experience providers, were also affected by the bankruptcy. In the spring of 2024, sales via the online platform Jollydays and via retail partners are said to have fallen significantly, the creditors in KSV1870 indicate the debtor's information. Talks with potential investors suddenly fell apart. According to KSV, the marketing costs of the experience voucher seller have also risen sharply in the past.
