Just in time for the start of 2024

Between Christmas and New Year, Toni Polster was taken to hospital with a perforated stomach, causing a sensation throughout (football) Austria. The emergency occurred shortly before his press conference regarding the lawsuit against the Austrian Football Association over three unrecognized international goals (in the article). He had to cancel this press conference on short notice. Now – almost in time for the start of 2024 – the coach of SC Wiener Viktoria of the Eastern Region League has addressed his fans via social media for the first time.

Polster shares a photo in which he symbolically waves to his followers and thanks them in writing for the numerous messages, well wishes and condolences. He explained that he is in good condition under the circumstances and is on his way to recovery.

News regarding Tony's health gradually became public through his management, his lawyers and his club Winner Victoria. It was soon said that Tony was at least “over the mountain”. He is now speaking in person, which brings hope and comfort.
