Authorities in Kiev reported one of the deadliest airstrikes in recent history: at least three people were killed in the central district of the capital when an inhabited high-rise building was bombed.
According to the capital’s prosecutor’s office, at least three people were killed and several others injured in an airstrike in Kiev.
A 24-storey residential building in the central Solomyansky district was hit by a missile or a drone. Fire and smoke spread over three floors.
The explosion also caused severe damage to property in the vicinity of the building.
Anastasia, 30, also lives in the high-rise: “I heard an explosion, after which I smelled fire, it smelled like firecrackers. I got dressed, tried to go to the entrance, but it was impossible, everything was filled with smoke, so I closed the door and went out onto the balcony Because that was the only place you could breathe in. I saw anti-aircraft guns keep firing missiles or drones.”
According to the Kiev military department, about 20 more air strikes on the capital were repelled.
There have also been Russian airstrikes on the city of Dnipro in central Ukraine and the second largest city in the east, Kharkiv.
