KUZ Oberschützen: The successful Christmas concert of the “Triffnix Horns”

On Friday 22 December, the annual Christmas concert of the “Triffnix Horns” was held at the Cultural Center in Oberschutzen. The musical group invited everyone to enjoy the Christmas spirit together and end the evening in good company after the concert.

Overtaking. The party started at 7:30 pm in the Cultural Center hall, and some songs were played to start the evening. This was followed by the Triffnix Horns' frontman and conductor, Volker Wise, welcoming the guests.

“Instead of a quiet Advent season, it's become very eventful these days,” Wise said. Between songs he told a story about the meaning of Christmas and put the visitors in a good mood with his good humor.

Guests enjoyed, among other things, the song “Don't Cry Because It's Over, Laugh Because It Even Happened” by Gabriel Garcia. These and some other songs were played in memory of music greats Roger Whittaker, Tony Bennett and David Crosby, who died in 2023.

Play Christmas carols in your pajamas

And of course there were lots of Christmas carols. A wardrobe change was necessary and the musicians exchanged their suit and tie for Christmas pajamas. The “Sleeping Through Christmas” theme featured very innovative costumes and props.

Whether it was cuddly toys or a whole bed made of cardboard - there were no limits to the creativity of the musicians. | Photo: Annika Paul

That evening, all members of the “Triffnix Horns” were introduced on stage. Timon Goltz deserved a special round of applause as he was the youngest member of the birthday party for the first time.

Kristen Boom says: “The concerts are very good every year, but this year they were very well arranged. The song selection was very thoughtful and there is a common thread between the music and the spoken word.”

“We've known some of the members for a long time and been with them since the beginning. We're there every year. The parties are great, there's something for every generation.”, Wilfred Baum said.

The party was once again very popular among visitors and was a complete success!
