Group A
Copenhagen – Bayern 1:2
The hosts acted bravely from the start and gave Bayern an evenly matched first-half duel with few chances for either side. Joshua Kimmich had the best chance of the first 45 minutes when he fired a long-range shot over the bar after about half an hour. In the second half, the speed of the match finally increased. In the 56th minute, Copenhagen took the lead through Lukas Lerager.
Bayern was not surprised by this and responded through Jamal Musiala, who completed a wonderful individual effort to equalize in the 67th minute. Then the visitors pressed for the lead, which actually ended in collapse. In the 83rd minute, Thomas Müller beat two opponents inside the box and passed to a better positioned Matthijs Tall, who put the ball into the net to go ahead. Shortly before the end, it was Sven Ulreich who prevented the equalizer with a brilliant save.
