Lakers Carinthia tops the standings after defeating Graz Huskies

The Carinthia Lakers, who had a 3-0 advantage in the first comparison of the season, also got off to a better start on Friday. Adela Vavrova put the hosts ahead in the 13th minute. Graz showed improvement compared to the duel that took place nearly two weeks ago, but was forced to admit defeat again. With a double blow when they were outscored within 15 seconds, Carinthians made things clear in the central division. Valentina Robach scored first, then Regan Petrovsky made it 3-0. The Huskies came close to scoring thanks to Simone Graschner's goal, but Alaina Hinnom made it all clear. The Lakers also took over the top spot in the AWHL table.

The match, held at Heidi Horten Arena, had the slogan “Pink the Rink” and was dedicated to solidarity with cancer patients and their families. After the final siren sounded, the donation amounting to 2,100 euros was handed over to the Carinthia Cancer Patients Aid Organization.

The DEC Salzburg Eagles have claimed it all from the EVB Eagles South Tyrol in the Women's European Hockey League. In the end, the candidates from South Tyrol left the ice as winners. After 51 minutes of a goalless draw, Christine Della Rovere broke the spell, and shortly afterwards Elena Berathoner scored the final score. Goaltender Ilaria Girardi recorded a shutout with 14 saves and extended his lead in the EWHL standings.
