Lanzador fits in with the Italian super sports car company’s “Direzione Cor Tauri” strategy – and with it its roadmap for decarbonization and electrification is announced in 2021: after introducing the V12 revuelto-formatted hybrid, Lamborghini now reveals the car’s precursor to its first purely electric model to it and gives an insight into the series model to be produced from 2028. “With the fourth model, we open a new automotive division, Ultra GT. Thanks to innovative new technologies, this will offer customers a new, incomparable Lamborghini driving experience, ”promises Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman of the Board Management and CEO of Lamborghini.
There is a long tradition at Lamborghini that models are based on the names of successful fighting bulls. In 1993, it was the victorious Lanzador who wowed the Spanish fans at the Madrid Arena. With the now unveiled Lanzador, it shouldn’t be any different for many Lamborghini fans: the first electric prototype from Sant’Agata Bolognese looks as sharp as only a Lambo can be! “We look to the future without forgetting our DNA. The concept of our fourth model range uses our philosophy of extreme sportiness combined with bold new technologies and bold design. It fits perfectly into the ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ strategy, ”explains Stephan Winkelmann.
The high-performance electric motor on each axle ensures a permanent, purely electric drive in all conditions, on any surface and with any driving style. The Italians are (still) silent about the HP and battery capacity or range, behind closed doors they talk about 1360 HP! “For us, electrification is not a limitation, but an intelligent way to develop more power, performance and drivability,” explains Reuven Mohr, Lamborghini’s chief technical officer. So there will be no compromises in terms of power, driving pleasure and performance…
