Innsbruck – Thursday, February 17, 2022, 10:54 pm
Two days before the start of spring in the second Admiral League, FC Wacker Innsbruck is still not calm.
At the beginning of the week, new sports director Selcuk Coskun said goodbye after 22 days and resigned. New technical director Michael Oning will take over as sporting director from now on (All information >>>).
In an interview with “Tiroler Tageszeitung”, Josef Geisler, Tyrol State Sports Adviser and Vice-Governor, put the baton in the window of the new club management and strongly demanded documents on the new investor (All information >>>).
And now a new misfortune threatens, because the former financier Mikhail Ponomarev suddenly returned to work. The Russian businessman ensured the financial survival of the traditional club last summer and transferred a six-figure sum to Innsbruck every month.
For this purpose, FC Wacker must cede shares in GmbH this spring. However, this did not happen, after differences of opinion, the Innsbruck team ended their cooperation with Ponomarev in January.
Ponomarev: stocks or money
However, the Russian will not easily give up on it, because according to a report by “Courier” a native of Moscow still insists on the agreed shares in GmbH. If he doesn’t get this, he demands his money back.
“I don’t understand what the new club management is doing,” Ponomarev told Courier. “I saved the club. Now they don’t even want to talk to me.”
Green-Black sees the situation differently, Ponomarev will not always make the agreed payments on time. That is why he no longer has any claim to the shares.
One thing is clear: without Ponomarew, FC Wacker would no longer exist in its current form. Anyway, it’s sexy…
