FC Dornbirn lost 1-2 at home to FC Liefering in the sixteenth round of the Admiral II League and suffered their sixth defeat in a row.
In the first half, you can tell that the game is a duel in the basement. Both teams act somewhat insecurely and are unable to create any convincing scoring chances.
Levering scored with two goals after the break
After the break, the first goal finally came: after a corner kick, Levering defender Brian Okoh headed in a header to give Salzburg the lead (70'). After that, the hosts were forced to become more attacking, but they conceded their second goal in the final phase.
Okoh cannot be separated from the ball in the Vorarlberg penalty area and passes the ball to substitute Philipp Verhoneig who scores from close range to make it 2-0 (87).
In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Dornbirn defender Cavafy reduced the score to 1-2 from a penalty kick. But the goal comes too late.
Levering remains in 13th place but is now six points above the relegation zone. In contrast, Dornbirn is still in the middle of this list with only ten points, in 15th place. There are already seven points missing from the Savings Bank.
