Lift Rock – Thorsteinn Einarsson rocks the ski lift in Kirchbach

In perfect summer weather, an excellent musical evening took place on August 14th in the picturesque location of the valley station of the ski lift. The new band “Ollas leiwand” consists mainly of young Waldviertel musicians: Peter Huber (keyboard), Florian Weiss (electric guitar), Dietmar Hall (bass), Gerold Weissenbock (drums) and the young Fabian Stocker (acoustic guitar).

The four professional singers alternately interpreted famous Austropop songs. After an hour the group “Ollas leiwand” finished their show with the song “I am from Austria”.

During the break, the six members of “th.EVENT.s” took to the stage to welcome them. Tobias Damberger and Lukas Pichler were happy that their bold idea of organizing open-air concerts here had succeeded. They thanked the Kirchbach Tourism Association, which had made the area available, and the Kirchbach Volunteer Fire Department, which had managed all the services in the many restaurant stalls – with the support of many young people.

Thosteinn Einarsson presented a visual and audio fireworks display.

Thorsteinn Einarsson and his four-piece band then kicked off a visual and audio fireworks display, starting with the previous year’s hit “Echo.” This was followed by quieter songs such as “Galaxy” and “Bridges Burn,” which also featured the drummer and keyboard player – along with a second, smaller instrument. After “Kryptonite” and “Shackles,” Thorsteinn Einarsson ended the formal part of the show with a cover of Aha’s “Take on Me.”

Just as a new appearance, the native Icelander presented his first and last songs: “Leya” and “Hotel Heartache”. He bid farewell to the enthusiastic audience with his new single “SOS”, a huge hit with its catchy melody and upbeat rhythm.

Thorsteinn Einarsson took care of countless requests for autographs for a long time, while DJs Fatho and Mallegro provided the right tunes for the after-show party.
