About director Nils Arden Oplev

Niels Arden Oplev participated in 13 films and eight series as director, screenwriter and producer. He was born on March 26, 1961 in Denmark. In the small village where he went to school, he met the famous children’s book author Ule Lund Kierkegaard. After five years, he moved to a school where the tone was more disciplined. He addressed these experiences in his subsequent film, “The Dream,” which tells the story of a student and his battle against his dictatorial teacher, for which he was awarded the Crystal Bear in 2006.

Since 1987, Oplev has attended the Danish Film School and directed several short films, including a documentary.
