Patricia Comer is traveling to China this week. Because she was not vaccinated, she went into a 21-day quarantine there.
Patricia Comer cannot be vaccinated for personal reasons and therefore has to go into a 21-day quarantine in Beijing set by the International Olympic Committee. “Following my personal decision not to vaccinate, quarantine is the logical outcome. “I respect the regulations of the authorities and the IOC,” said the 34-year-old skater.
With the arrival of the Swiss-Snowboard Alpine team, Kommer, who won the gold medal in Sochi in 2014, will be able to leave the quarantine and rejoin the team.
The selection process has not yet been fully completed
Kummer has already met the selection criteria for the Winter Games. The Swiss-Snowboard alpine team also achieved four possible quota places ahead of the last World Cup. However, it is currently still open to see if the Valais woman will definitely be selected by the Swiss Olympian for the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The official selection process will begin after the World Cup finals in Bad Gastein and Simonhöhe with a similar application from Swiss-Ski to Swiss Olympic.
