Choreographer Emmanuel Gat, who has musical roots and was born in Israel in 1969, found his professional focus in France. Here, in the year of the viral disaster of 2020, he developed a piece that was intended to celebrate life, especially in the relatively happy 1980s. Musically, he was inspired by the music of the British synth-pop band Tears for Fears, which was founded in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith was established and was at the forefront of creating the soundtracks of the decade.
Linz's production is based on French performance material, with some modifications and reconstructions (dramaturgy: Rome JanusChoreography assistance: Michael Lohr, pleasant WilhelmsonFashion: Thomas Bradley). The stage, designed by the choreographer himself, is (almost) just a black space at the maximum possible size for a stage – and that means plenty of room for the dancers here at the Linz Music Theater. Only at the back can a series of pillar-like openings be opened, with backlighting, fog effects, etc. And against this neutral background, the unusually diverse, colorful and imaginative costumes that Bradley creates in somewhat free association with the music look especially radiant. – No matter whether you think of ancient Rome, Mongol, Baroque or Renaissance figures when you think of individual figures. Diffuse lighting, which often works with back and side lighting Guillaume Fevrier It creates long-term effects such as those introduced by Caravaggio in painting that create a very special and sometimes mysterious atmosphere.

For titles (played by canned music) such as “Crazy world“,”He shouts“,”Everyone wants to rule the world“And the final, which was presented in an apotheosis.”Plant the seeds of love(from which the general title is derived) Dancing, having fun, having fun, doing big and flying Elena Sofia Pesky, Matteo Cogliandro, Ilya Dergusov, Misha Hall, Yu Teng Huang, Katarina Elnar, Elisa Lodolini, Angelica Mattiazzi, Pavel Povraznik, Lorenzo Rota, Arthur Samuel Cecilia, Hinako Taira, Pedro Tayet and Fleur and two bodies. The resulting processes and images are often stunningly acrobatic, often set in a rush of colour, but of course there are also moments to pause and reflect. Of course, everything remains at the associative and abstract level – ideas are not served on a plate, you have to create them yourself, as the fashion designer did.
