Major Baldur’s Gate 3 update adds new epilogues and game modes – SHOCK2

With its biggest update yet, Larian Studios is launching a brand new epilogue to its popular CRPG with Patch 5 Baldur’s Gate 3. This takes place 6 months after the final battle and is intended to provide a more satisfying conclusion to the fantasy saga based on the player’s decisions.

Based on a wide range of ways to play the game, according to Larian, this payoff was by no means simple and so thousands of new lines of text had to be recorded and various film sequences had to be introduced in order to bring all playthroughs to a proper end.

The update also brings two new game modes. Honor Mode, which aims to offer a whole new challenge with several profound changes to the system and each of the 30+ boss battles, as well as a new Custom Mode.

This allows you to change a variety of settings to customize the game to your own taste. For example, failed Perception rolls can now be hidden and the game overall can be geared more towards its original DnD template. Last but not least, the update should also fix a good chunk of FPS drops and, above all, deliver a smoother gaming experience on weaker hardware.
