Many physical versions of Nintendo's own Switch games are currently unavailable in the US.
And it leaves fans speculating, for example about a new budget label and the Switch 2.
Why is that?
Account X was the first to notice this NintendoDiscord user AshadowLink then (Reset era) has compiled a list of titles currently unavailable at various retailers:
- Paper Mario: The Origami King
- Tangi Kong Country: Tropical Frost
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (2019)
- Pikmin 3 Deluxe
- Fear of the Metroid
- Kirby Star Allies
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Fire Sign: Three houses
- Fire Symbol: Commitment
- World of Yoshi's Craft
- Warioware: Get Together!
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Splatoon 2
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Mario Strikers: Battle League
As you can see, there are certainly no unimportant topics. Some are a little older, others last year.
What is it about? Well, on the one hand, all these games were very popular recently and there are no duplicates at this time.
Others have speculated that Nintendo might produce a re-release (with a new product code) perhaps as a budget label.
Still others associate it with the Switch successor, which according to unconfirmed reports will appear this year. If the new console is backwards compatible, the new packaging may indicate, for example, that games can be played with the successor console.
However, there don't seem to be any major issues with availability in this country at the moment, so there's no reason to panic buy.
