On Saturday, the 83-year-old actress received the Robert Award, a Danish film award, for her work in Netflix's “Ehrengard: The Story of a Seduction.” The former monarch was not present at the awards ceremony in Copenhagen. The film's producer, Marcella Dishman, received the award on her behalf.
The film is based on the book by Danish author Karen Blixen, best known for her memoir Out of Africa. The film is directed by Bill August, one of the most famous filmmakers in the Scandinavian country.

In addition to her royal duties, Margaret II has made a name for herself as a successful artist over the years. She is a painter and illustrator and has worked as a costume and set designer for the Royal Danish Ballet and the Royal Danish Theater on numerous occasions.
In her New Year's speech, she suddenly announced her abdication of the throne. On January 14, after a reign of 52 years, she handed the throne to her eldest son, now King Frederick X. She retained her title as queen even after abdicating the throne.
