In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can also play online against your friends.
You can compete online against up to 11 other players.
You can create private and public matches or join friends’ games.

Create your own lobby in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

If you want to play online with your friends, you have two options, either create a lobby or join a friend’s game.

If you want to start the match on your own, select “Online Game” on the main Mario Kart 8 Deluxe menu, then select the “Friends” menu item and invite the friends you want to play with.

A popup will then ask you if you want to create a private lobby. You can then choose your character and start your first race.

Join the lobby
