Solar module manufacturer clears one hurdle as it moves to the US: As promised, Meyer Burger will start module production in Arizona in the second quarter. The solar cells required for this will continue to be supplied from the German location in Thalheim until the solar cell factory in Colorado becomes operational, the announcement said. Also positive is that Mayor Burger has concluded a three-year purchase agreement with an American energy company for up to 600 MW annually. Agreements have already been signed with major customer Desri, BayWa re and Ikea parent company Ingka. An order backlog of 5.4 GW for the next five years has been agreed with them.
