Austrians Matthias Maier and Vincent Krechmayr seize the opportunity to race their legs ahead of the downhill double in Zermatt/Cervinia.
The two will compete in the giant slalom World Cup in Sölden on Sunday, where Stefan Bernsteiner will be injured. Manuel Feller will be the strongest player in the USV giant slalom last season, as will Katharina Troup, Ramona Seppenhofer and Katharina Linsberger for women on Saturday.
On the Rettenbachferner glacier, 11 women and eight runners participate. In domestic times, Magdalena Egger, Elisa Morzinger, Magdalena Kapoorer as well as Dominic Rachner reign supreme.
Thomas Dorner replaces Bernsteiner (meniscus injury). If Stephanie Brunner (Knieblessur) can’t compete, Sophia Waldauf will be nominated.
