There is a motorway exit near Nice called simply: Les Alpes. And so the traveler is gently prepared for the fact that after a few kilometers everything will change. The area is getting harsher and the dialects seem more special – like the people who still speak them.

This adventurous cultural scene is home to the Corou de Berra, a vocal ensemble dedicated to the songs and traditions of the southern edge of the Alps. Customs, the cycle of the year, the preservation of ancient melodies and texts are the natural work of this choir, which – in the Greek sense – gives the inhabitants a voice. Because her favorite place to sing is the streets and squares of the border region between Italy and France.
