The World Cup dream has exploded. But the era of Franco Voda is not over yet. The ÖFB captain’s contract runs until March 31.
“Of course he will be on the bench against Scotland on Tuesday,” FA president Gerhard Milic said on “ORF” channel after the 2-1 defeat in Wales.
Burgenlander does not even want to rule out Fouda remaining in his post after March. “You have to analyze everything a little bit, sleep on it. At the moment, it is too early to say how quickly a solution can be found. It could be a solution with Fuda or a solution without it. Nothing can be ruled out at the moment,” Milic says.
The FA president said the Austrian Football Association wanted to “find a solution in April that would take us further”.
Schoettle wants to ‘question everything’
Sports director Peter Schoettle does not want to break anything in the knee: “We still have team boss Franco Voda at the moment. We have to absorb the defeat now.” But he wanted to “question everything”.
Of course, Fouda is conservative when it comes to future predictions: “My contract runs until March 31. Everything else doesn’t matter much after the match.”
The 55-year-old has been the team president since October 2017.
