The Weinviertel a cappella choir, in collaboration with the Vienna Chamber Choir, performs one of Mozart’s most famous and revered works. On Saturday, November 25, more than 80 singers will sing to the tunes of the Neue Streicher Klosterneuburg in the Minoriten Church in Vienna. And on Sunday 26 November, Requiem Mass will be heard by the same wonderful cast in Mistelbach Parish Church.
“Requiem in D minor, KV 626”, which resembles a thriller in its origin, is a work full of spiritual power and captivating expression. It is not only the mythology surrounding the composition of the Requiem that contributes to the great appeal of Mozart’s final piece, but also the music itself, which carries strong emotions. While Gerhard Eder, Music Director of the Weinviertel a cappella choir, handles the choral rehearsals, Director of the Vienna Chamber Choir, Michael Grohotolski, conducts the two performances in the heart of Vienna and the Weinviertel.
cards Both concerts are available via Eventjet, from all choir members and from the Citizens Service at Mistelbach City Hall.
Offers: Minoritenkirche Vienna: Saturday, November 25, 7:30 p.m.; Mistelbach Parish Church: Sunday 26 November, 4pm
