MONSTER HUNTER is finally making movie theaters rock again!

Munich (OTS) – We had to wait a long time, and now the movie adaptation of the hugely successful video game series MONSTER HUNTER is finally coming to German cinemas. With Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa in the lead roles and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the story is told of two heroes from different worlds but fighting a common enemy: monsters!

Hidden behind our world is another world, a world full of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their lands with deadly cruelty. When an unexpected sandstorm throws Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (T.I. Harris, Megan Judd, Diego Bonita) into a new world, soldiers are shocked to discover that giant and horrific monsters live in this hostile and unknown land, immune to their firepower. In their desperate struggle for survival, the unit encounters a mysterious hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique abilities allow him to stay one step ahead of the mighty creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust in each other, she discovers that he is part of a team led by Admiral (Ron Perlman). Faced with the great danger that threatens to destroy their world, brave warriors with their extraordinary skills join forces to fight side by side in the ultimate showdown.

The fantasy thriller is based on the global video game series launched on MONSTER HUNTER.

MONSTER HUNTER is an in-house production by Constantin Film. Producers are Jeremy Bolt and Paul W. S. Anderson of Impact Pictures and Robert Colzer and Martin Moskowitz of Konstantin Film. Denis Berardi, the film’s head of visual effects, also works as a producer. The screenplay for MONSTER HUNTER was written by Paul W. S. Anderson, who also directed it. The shooting took place in October 2018 in South Africa and Namibia.

The MONSTER HUNTER video game series was created under the umbrella of the famous Japanese video game development company CAPCOM. Since the title MONSTER HUNTER debuted in 2014, the series has connected to a dedicated fan base and has grown into a huge success.
