Motorola Edge 40 appears on Geekbench

Motorola Edge 40 appears on Geekbench

Motorola introduced Edge 40 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in early April. In fact, one would have expected the Motorola Edge 40 base model to be on stage, instead there have only been leaks and rumors so far. Now at least the upcoming Edge has appeared on Geekbench, indicating an imminent launch.

Motorola Edge 40 scored 1,105 single-core points and a multi-core score of 3,542 points in the benchmark test. The device runs Android 13, has 8GB of RAM, and is powered by a chipset called MediaTek’s MT6891Z_Z/CZA SoC. The chip has four performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Geekbench does not mention the name of the processor. Rumor has it that it is MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8020 chip.

However, the designation MT6891Z_Z/CZA is very similar to the Dimensity 1100 model code, which is MT6891Z/CZA. In addition, the Dimensity 1100 has an eight-core CPU, the frequencies of which are fully consistent with the aforementioned clock speeds. As a result, benchmark results are sometimes taken with a pinch of salt, so we’ll have to wait for more sources to confirm Motorola Edge 40 chipset specifications.

The rest of the Motorola Edge 40 leaked specifications include a 6.55-inch 144Hz pOLED display with FullHD+ resolution. There’s up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage under the hood, as does a 4,400mAh battery that charges at 68W via cable and 15W wirelessly. In addition to the 50MP main camera with OIS, Motorola also installs a 13MP wide angle and 32MP selfie camera. The Motorola smartphone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning. Protection against water and dust ensures an IP68 rating.
