“It somewhat resembles the face of a bear. But what is it really?” This is the video on the YouTube channel of High-resolution imaging science experiments (Herez) from the University of Arizona. The image in question can be seen in the background. It is a picture of the surface of Mars. And indeed, with a little imagination, the rock formation actually looks like a bear.

The video immediately explains what the eye sees here. You can see “a mound with a collapsed V-shaped structure” – the nose of the supposed bear face. Above the mound are two pits, which represent the eyes inside the bear’s face. The circle around it, which looks like a bear’s head, is a “circular fracture pattern” within the Red Planet’s surface.
A circular fracture pattern could be an indication that an impact crater is hidden underneath. For example, the mound (bear’s nose) could be the vent of a volcano. The sediments around it may consist of lava or mud. speculates astronomer Alfred McQueen.

Pictures of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
picture it out Mars reconnaissance spacecraft registered. she Since 2006 in orbit of the red planet. On board has a high resolution camera. The highly detailed images it records are intended primarily for researchers. Scientists use the images to learn more about the surface, atmosphere, and water (in what physical state) of Mars.
The probe has now sent more than 445,000 terabytes of data back to Earth. “Previous cameras on other Mars probes can spot objects as small as a school bus. This camera can see objects as small as a dining table,” NASA wrote.
LHS 475 b: The James Webb telescope finds the first exoplanet
The James Webb Space Telescope has detected an exoplanet for the first time. It is designated LHS 475 b and is roughly the size of Earth. Is it possible to live on it?
This isn’t the first time the Hirise camera has sent a curiosity back to Earth. Four years ago, the University of Arizona released an image of the surface of Mars where Game of Thrones fans are They thought they saw a wolf. The direwolf is the heraldic animal of House Stark. Three years ago, researchers discovered the formation they made Happy Crater’s Face Baptism It is a little reminiscent of a grinning smile.
