Vienna – Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:21 pm
The Austria national team must fear their test match against the “Three Lions” on June 2 in Middlesbrough, England.
The Austrian federal government announced on Tuesday that the United Kingdom is one of the variable regions for viruses (“B2”) under the COVID-19 Entry Regulation. As a result, the landing ban in Austria will go into effect on June 1, 2021.
People entering from the UK need a negative PCR test and must also go into (home) quarantine for ten days after entry, and this also applies to business travelers. Premature termination of quarantine after a negative PCR test is possible on the fifth day after entry at the earliest.
Therefore, “regarding the friendly match against England in Middlesbrough scheduled for June 2, UEFA is already in close contact with the responsible authorities in order to obtain a special arrangement here,” explains the press office of the national team.
The national team is insisting that the team and associated support staff be in a “bubble” in which they are given regular tests and that they travel to England in isolation, according to UEFA.
