Good news for all Huawei Watch GT 5 owners: Huawei has announced that the popular smartwatch series will soon be expanded to include a practical function: contactless payment via NFC.
NFC payments as of December
We recently tested the Huawei Watch GT Series 5 in detail and found that the lack of NFC payments was a slight downfall. Fortunately, Huawei has listened to user feedback and will now correct this flaw. A software update for the Watch GT 5, GT 5 Pro and Watch Ultimate Green Edition that activates the NFC function will be released in December.
Pay easily and securely
After the update, smartwatch owners can pay for their purchases quickly and easily using NFC technology. The prerequisite is an Android smartphone and the Quicko Wallet app. iOS users will have to be patient; They are not planned to be updated until the beginning of 2025.
Smartwatches are increasingly becoming practical daily assistants. Integrating NFC payments is a logical step and makes smartwatches more attractive.
