The Cincinnati Bengals reached the quarterfinals of the NFL Divisional Round in a thrilling duel with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. A participant won the Super Bowl last season at 24:17 and can continue to dream of the first title in his history. For the Ravens, once again without injured quarterback Lamar Jackson, who wasn’t even a spectator on the field, the season is over.
The initial decision led to a stunning defensive action by the Bengals: While defending their own end zone, Sam Hubbard caught the football that went free after losing the ball from the Ravens’ replacement playmaker Tyler Huntley and ran it 98 yards into the Ravens’ end zone. “I was in the right place at the right time. I was just hoping to get into the endzone, I’m really tired,” said Hubbard after his work, who set an NFL record for longest fumble touchdown.
Bills keep up with difficulty
The Bills previously struggled through the Miami Dolphins’ hurdle as a favorite. At 34:31 in Buffalo, the hosts had to shiver until the last minutes. The Bills gave up a 17-0 lead at one point and fell behind 20-24 in the third quarter. Quarterback Josh Allen caught three touchdown passes and two interceptions in the nearly four-hour game.
And Dammar Hamlin, who watched the game from home two weeks after a heart attack on the field, had his fans on edge until the very end. But then Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson’s lack of experience showed, who couldn’t turn his recent offensive streak into something to count. On Sunday (9pm CET), after 20 days of drama, the canceled game between the Bills and Bengals will be repeated in Buffalo.
Jones vs. Vikings is unstoppable
The New York Giants also managed to rise by defeating the Minnesota Vikings 31:24 in Minneapolis. The team hasn’t made the playoffs since 2012, when the Giants won the Super Bowl with quarterback Eli Manning. The next hurdle is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Playing his first playoff game, quarterback Daniel Jones was a major factor in the upset win over the Vikings. He had 379 yards. He threw 301 of them, including two touchdowns, and managed 78 of them himself. Surprisingly, no playmaker in the playoffs before could combine these values. Minnesota, on the other hand, lost a close game for the first time this season after winning 11 games by under “score” in the regular season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars made headlines Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers with a 31:30 lead after being 0:27 down shortly before the break, while the San Francisco 49s were only 16:17 behind against the Seattle Seahawks in rest. Then they played a sovereign victory 41:23 in the second half.
Dallas v brady plays and stats
On Monday evening (local time), the final game of the NFL’s “Super Wild Card Weekend” was followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ duel against the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott plays against the stats. Texas has a negative record of 0:7 against the great Tom Brady.
The winner of the match meets San Francisco next Sunday (Monday, 0.30am CET). The day before, the Kansas City Chiefs would meet the Jacksonville Jaguars (10:30 p.m. CET) and the New York Giants would meet the Philadelphia Eagles (2:15 a.m. CET Sunday).
