Nicholas Seewald moves to RB Leipzig

Nicholas Seewald moves to RB Leipzig

Nici Seiwald has been playing with us for thirteen years. This era will end next summer. The 21-year-old withdraws from Salzburg’s contractually fixed exit clause and moves to the Bundesliga, where he signs a five-year contract with RB Leipzig.

From U9 to the academy to the national team

Nici Seiwald started his career with the Red Bulls as a U9 player. After that, the reliable midfielder went through all youth levels, including the Red Bull Academy (three titles) and Al-Taawoun FC Liefering (37 matches), before becoming the champion of the series. Kuchler has already completed 95 assignments here and has won a total of four titles (2x Bundesliga champions, 2x cup winners). Seewald was also an Austrian player in the squad for ten matches.

statement

Nici Seiwald has been with us for thirteen years and is a prime example of how players develop at FC Red Bull Salzburg. Go through all the stages with us and continue to evolve. Now he used the contractually fixed exit clause and decided to take the next step in the summer and play in one of the top European leagues. We are extremely proud of the way Nessie, despite his young age, has developed into an absolute first base player and a hugely important figure on and off the field. But now we look forward to the coming months with him for the first time, when we will all strive towards the great goal of bringing Salzburg a tenth championship title in a row.

Christopher’s friend

I’ve been playing for Salzburg for many years and I’ve learned everything I can do as a footballer here. The past year in particular has been incredible, and I sometimes have to push myself to realize what happened out there. Above all, appearing in the Champions League and for the Austrian national team was something very special. My trip will continue in the summer and I will move to RB Leipzig. This change also makes sense to me because of the similar game system, and I’m looking forward to it. But anyone who knows me knows very well that I would give absolutely everything for Red Bull Salzburg until then. My big goal is to let the club win another championship title.
