According to the authorities, the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and its environs were attacked by Russians during the night with Iranian-made drones. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that critical infrastructure targets were hit again.
Power engineers tried to stabilize the supply of electricity and heating. In some parts of the city, power was cut off as an emergency. According to Klitschko, there were no casualties in Kyiv, but two in the surrounding area. Infrastructure objects and private homes were damaged.
Dozens of combat drones have been deployed
According to military information, Kyiv alone was attacked by more than 20 Iranian-made fighter jets. Air defense shot down about 15 of them. Another ten drones were intercepted in southern Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian military recently received a new shipment of Iranian-made drones.
Air raid sirens sounded most of the night in Kyiv. The air alert was raised in the morning. It was only on Friday that a heavy wave of Russian attacks led to major failures in Ukraine’s electricity, heat and water supplies.
