The women’s night slalom race in Flachau has been postponed on the recommendation of the state of Salzburg. A new place is currently being searched. Other events are not affected.
The traditional women’s night slalom competition at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup was supposed to take place in Flachau on January 11. Given the high infection rates in Flachau, the state of Salzburg has spoken out against its implementation. The Austrian Ski Association takes this recommendation very seriously and has therefore decided to postpone the race.
The Austrian Ski Association extends its thanks to all the officials in Flachau who worked for months in preparation. Together, the Flachau community, Union Sportclub Flachau and Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen form a highly professional event team and have been a trusted partner of the Austrian Ski Association for many years.
The Austrian Ski Association is currently looking for a new venue in close cooperation with the International Ski Association (FIS).
Other World Cup events to be held in Salzburg next week (Audi FIS Zauchensee Ski World Cup January 13-16 2022 and FIS Snowboard World Cup BAD GASTEIN January 11-12 2022) will not be affected and will be affected as planned with the Covid prevention concept -19 installer of the Austrian Ski Association.
