Oddworld: Soulstorm was already released for PC and PlayStation in April, and now the Xbox Enhanced Edition is also on its way.
The Xbox variant or enhanced version of . has been confirmed Oddworld: Soulstorm At first it did not have an exact release date, but that has now changed. In a press release, Microids and Oddworld Inhabitants announced that the revamped version of the adventure game will be available for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One starting November 30, 2021.
By the way, PlayStation players don’t have to worry, because they can also take advantage of improvements as part of the Enhanced Edition. For PS5 and PS4, there will be a free upgrade to this better game version at the same time.
What happens in the enhanced version? The makers promise “dramatically improved gameplay mechanics and motion codes, audio balance improvements, an additional seven months of fine-tuning, improved Slig and Follower AI (more intelligent and responsive) plus all previously released updates and all-new content.”
The latter is a new challenge mode that can be accessed separately in the game that can be accessed via the main menu once the main game is completed. Xbox players will also get a new game mode called “Vykkers Labs,” inspired by classic 2.5D gameplay from previous parts of the franchise. The fewer deaths in the game you die in this mode, the higher you will find yourself in the ranking. Vykkers Labs of the same name is a rapid laboratory in which pharmaceutical testing is performed on animals.
But on PlayStation, you get “Toby’s Escape” mode, which also pays tribute to previous Oddworld games. Here you can look forward to 10 short levels to master.
