Last week, Austrian outdoor advertising company Gewista presented its sustainability report dated 21/22. This addresses the company’s progress while at the same time setting Gewista’s goals for 2023. For the first time, subsidiaries Gewista Service, Infoscreen, Progress Outdoor Advertising and Megaboard are also included in the sustainability report.
Gewista’s goals focus primarily on reducing carbon dioxide. The company, in collaboration with parent company JC Decaux, says it has begun improving lighting times for its advertising media and switching to LED technology. By 2030, Gewista wants to reduce CO2 emissions in scope 1 + 2 by at least 60 percent compared to 2019 levels.
Included here are emissions that are generated directly or come from purchased energy. Therefore, the vehicle fleet, for example, should be converted to electric operation.
Green city projects in Vienna
Gewista has also started a project with Wiener Linien to create green bus shelters with beautiful mats in order to counter the development of urban heat.
“Our investments in LED technology, electric mobility and city greening are examples of how we take responsibility and make our contribution to creating livable living spaces,” explains Franz Solta, CEO of Gewista.
Diversity and people within the company should also be further enhanced. The new working approaches also aim to enhance transparency and engagement within the organisation.
